Every project needs full-time attention—that’s why each of our projects are managed by one of our full-time project managers, all of whom speak English and prioritize clear, effective communication. We won’t leave your project or our partner subcontractors unattended at your home (our project). We don’t like to leave key decisions or any decision to chance, so our project manager is there to build, install and manage our partner subcontractors—ensuring your is project is accurately executed. Unlike most of our competitors, this person is assigned exclusively to your project and will always be available on-site to address questions and concerns, lock/unlock each day, manage deliveries and inspections, and keep your home secure and safe. Ultimately this process allows us to deliver your project on time, within budget and with minimal hassle (we are well aware that having our team in your house is a hassle, so our goal is always minimum hassle).
Northwood Construction is able to handle most residential remodeling assignments. Our design and production team have many years of experience on a wide variety of residential projects. We are proud of the quality of our work and proud of the way we plan and perform our work. Unlike many remodeling companies, employee turnover is very low – which means you can easily check client references on our company and our project managers. We are a family-owned business and we treat each employee as one of our own. In fact, many of our full-time employees have been with the company for over 15 years and several over 20 years.
When you work with Northwood Construction, you never have to worry about our job experience or liability issues. We are a Virginia Class “A” contractor who carries workers’ compensation and liability insurance. Our staff includes NARI (National Association of the Remodeling Industry) Certified Lead Carpenters, NARI Certified Remodeler and NARI Certified Kitchen and Bath Remodeler. For our Aging-in-Place and special needs projects, we have an NAHB CAPS certified staff member (our owner). Our staff has a combined industry experience of 198 years and an average industry experience of 19+ years. This doesn’t mean we can’t be temporarily stumped, but we have seen and successfully solved a lot of complications. Our internal team motto is “a professional leaves nothing to chance”.
To stay on top of the industry’s latest innovations, Northwood Construction is an active member of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry. Our President has instructed Certified Lead Carpenter Courses for the NARI and has been an active member of the Education Committee in the local NARI Chapter (NARI Metro DC) for many years. This committee is responsible for planning, offering and executing continuing education for the local chapter membership. Northwood Construction is an active member of Remodelers Advantage, which is a peer membership organization that assists each member company on the latest business management, financial management, human resources, production, and growth procedures.
